Becky’s interest in accounting began at an early age when she often helped her aunt, a bookkeeper, with work she brought home.  A junior high-aged Becky enjoyed those times adding lists of numbers and recording them on large green column pads.

Becky’s continued interest led her to an independent study of accounting in high school, and she planned to continue her studies in college. While family commitments delayed those plans, she never lost interest. She spent years working in accounting clerk positions and as a controller for a private company.

In 1990, Becky received her Associate’s degree in accounting from Johnson County Community College, and continued her studies while working full time. In May of 1994, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Emporia State University.

After graduation, Becky began working towards her CPA license. This included the CPA exam, which she passed in November of 1995, as well as experience working for a CPA firm. She accepted a position with Baird, Kurtz & Dobson in Kansas City in May of 1995, helping small businesses set up and implement accounting software, and assist them with various accounting services. After a year with BKD, Becky received her CPA license from the state of Kansas, and started her own accounting and CPA practice in July of 1996.

Becky is currently licensed with the states of Kansas and Missouri as a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Kansas Society of CPA’s and Kansas City Metro Chapter.
